Oi Gente!

Let's start the week off with some Caipirinhas and Portuguese at this Brazilian-themed bar/restaurant. They have happy hour every weeknight from 5:30 to 7:30 and a pretty good selection of drinks and food. I've never tried the food here but I've heard it's good. You can read about the venue here and check out their menu:

For Santa Cruz-based SambaDá, founded in 1997 by native Brazilian Papiba Godinho, every night is Carnaval. The ultimate goal isn't just to preserve traditions the musicians are so well-versed in including samba, bossa nova, pagode, samba reggae, batucada, and forro but to get everyone dancing to the band's infectious blend of Brazilian roots and other North and South American styles such as funk, reggae, jazz, rock, and hip-hop. The pulsating percussion, uplifting vocals, and rich melodies of SambaDá give it a distinctive sound, heard in both popular and original songs.

REMEMBER TO TURN YOUR CLOCKS 1 HOUR FORWARD!

Union Square is a great outdoor place for groups to hang out at on a nice day. They have lots of benches, tables, and steps to sit on. It's also conveniently located near the Powell BART/Muni station. Let's try it for this meetup and see how it goes.

We'll meet at the tower in the center of the square and decide where to sit once we all gather.
