About Los Angeles Portuguese Language Meetup Group
THE LOS ANGELES PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE MEETUP GROUP
The Los Angeles Portuguese Language Meetup Group consists of a wide variety of members with diverse backgrounds and speaking abilities. Our events may include meetings at coffee shops or restaurants, cultural events, concerts, movies, or perhaps a simple barbeque at a park or even a member's house.
This group was created in order to get speakers of Portuguese to interact with one another. In Los Angeles there is a Portuguese community in Artesia and a Brazilian community in Culver City. There are many speakers who do not live near those communities and are looking for alternatives in order to interact with Portuguese speakers. This group intends to bridge that gap and bring both native speakers and learners of the language together.
In order to keep this meetup site active, there will be a $1 fee per meeting unless otherwise indicated in meeting notifications. For example there may be some meetups where there will be no fee. Hopefully this will prevent the site from having organizers step down and eventually disappear due to the lack of organizers.
