Picnic in Griffith Park

Many of you might remember our lovely picnic last year. Well, isn’t it about time we have another one? And if you haven’t been there last year – trust me, it will be a memorable day and you’ll want to repeat it.

This is your opportunity to meet Portuguese speakers and learners of all levels in a lovely natural area.

The best part of all: in a place like Griffith Park, no limit on the number of attendees and/or advance reservations are necessary! So bring your friends and families – there will be room for all of us. Children of all ages are more than welcome.

What you need to bring: a dish to share – Brazilian food is great, but not required – and something to sit on. To post on the message board what you are bringing will be a good idea. A hat for the sun and sunscreen are advisable.
DIRECTIONS:
- To the park coming from the south
- To the park coming from the north

1) Once you enter the park after getting off the 5, continue onto Crystal Springs Dr. You'll have no choice but to turn right.
2) Continue until you come up to the Park Ranger Headquarters right after Crystal Springs Park. (That park has a baseball field)
3) Make a left hand turn and watch the signs for the "MERRY GO ROUND" on the left hand side. Follow those signs.
- While in the park
The diagram above will show you where to drive after turning left by the Park Ranger Headquarters.
1) Continue up the hill and the road will turn right going through a parking lot.
2) After going through that parking lot, continue on, go pass the merry go round (to your right) and pass the next set of parking. Go to the end where you have to turn right.
3) Continue down into the next set of parking and you can park there. If there is no room there, any parking prior to that one will be fine. But more than likely there should be enough spaces since the park doesn't get crowded till later.
