Welcome everyone!

Looking for anyone interested in assisting with organizing/hosting future meet ups. I'm also open to suggestions as far as which days or nights and the time that would be good to just get together at any place, even if it is non-Portuguese related. Let us know if you know of any event coming up that would be of interest to the entire group.

Obrigado!

hi kalani,
there are a bunch of portuguese language films screening at the hammer museum that folks might be interested in for a meetup--sponsored by the UCLA film & television archives. my message is getting rejected for being too long so i had to cut out the descriptions of the films--is there somewhere i can post this to or send to you where there is not a 5000 word limit? thanks =)

Hi Kalani,
I liked the last meetup (August) at Peets Coffeehouse in Brentwood. I would like to find out whether there is a critical mass of committed people around that neighborhood (or close by) to maintain a more regular schedule of events. Meeting only once a month (if at all), doesnt lead anywhere, at least if you are serious about learning the language. All those others that dont want to learn anything, or dont make any effort to speak portuguese (frequently, these meetups resemble more a ingles para extranjeiros course) can stay at home, no big loss.
